Load reconciliation

Every drawdown measured at the tank is matched to the vehicle that took it, its credential, the hauler's run ticket and the purchaser's receipt. Anything that doesn't match is an exception. Select a load to see its electronic run ticket and evidence packet.

Tank levels

A sealed level sensor on each tank, read continuously. Levels are gauged in feet and inches and converted to barrels with each tank's calibration table (20 bbl per foot, 1.67 bbl per inch).

Evidence ledger

Every reading, alarm and reconciliation is written to an append-only ledger. Each entry is sealed together with the previous entry's seal, so any later edit breaks the chain.

Losses avoided

Estimate what Crudelock and Tankertrace would keep in the tank for an operator's own sites, and what that protects for royalty owners and the State. Adjust any assumption. Barrels are valued at the crude price; the Texas crude oil production tax is 4.6% of value.

For scale: Commissioner Wright has put Texas losses as high as $1 billion a year. At 4.6%, that is up to $46 million a year in crude oil production tax alone, before royalties.

Illustrative estimate, not a quote or a guarantee. The share of losses prevented is your assumption.

Permian overview

What the Commission could see if participating operators and purchasers share drawdown records in a common, industry-developed format. Records are anonymized: no operator, lease, hauler or purchaser is identified. Case detail goes only to DPS and prosecutors, through evidence packets.

Illustrative, simulated data for a voluntary 30-day period. Barrels valued at an illustrative WTI price of $97.15/bbl, Texas crude oil production tax 4.6%, royalty 20%.

Simulated Permian tank battery running Alchemy Inc.'s Crudelock. Fleet, plates, tags, dispatches, tickets and purchasers are fictional. Vehicle profiles are generated from vehicle dimensions; ledger entries are real cryptographic hashes, each including the previous one.
